Raised in Idaho, I learned from the mountains and rivers that patience and persistence pay off and patterns are worth recognizing.

My design process mirrors that same rhythm: creative exploration leading to unexpected, original solutions.

Graduated college in April 2017 in Idaho. By May, I had packed up and moved to San Francisco to jump in at Boosted.

At Boosted, I hit the ground running. I designed marketing campaigns for six hardware launches, from the Rev and Mini boards to the Stealth, Plus, and Beams. Next the iOS and Android apps, designing ride tracking, board pairing, inbox functionality, and updating the app to match Boosted’s web and brand system. I defined the target market, built successful automated email flows, and laid down a web design system that made the experience smooth for users and high-converting for the business.

In 2020 I joined Rivian as the third designer on the web and commerce team. I dove right into building, shipping, fixing, tuning, and tightening work that helped shake up the auto world. I led key work on big milestones like going public, rolling out the R1T, the R1S, and the R2 announcement. For two solid years, it was nothing but blank-page work. I built every product from the ground up and saw it all the way across the finish line: the Builder, the R1 Shop, Gear Shop, Rivian account, navigation, support center, and more.

In the second half of my time at Rivian I shifted into the systems role. It was time to tighten bolts and evolve the Rivian design language into a consistant, approachable and maintanable system. I helped lay down the new Bedrock design system, finally connecting Rivian.com, the Rivian app, and Vehicle UI into one unified setup. I wrote and maintained the internal doc site that designers and engineers lived in every day, hammered out new tokens to support the TV touch displays in Rivian Spaces, and kept the whole operation clean, consistent, and humming.

In the end I discovered my design montra:
Create for people, power with systems.

Living with ADHD and dyslexia shapes how I work,
it heightens my gift for spotting patterns and crafting visual systems.

My Family

They’re pretty incredible. I’ve been married to Tarryn for 11+ years, she studied geology, so our home is filled with rocks, books, and a lot of laughter. She’s the logical yin to my creative yang. Our kid, Row, is an athlete who was born with anophthalmia and navigates the world fully without sight, with a confidence and awareness that teaches us something new every day. And then there’s Dakine, our ten-year-old malamute, who keeps us grounded and outdoors as much as possible.

Together, we’re a wild, curious crew, exploring the world with our senses leading the way. Music plays a huge part in our rhythm as a family, so here’s a glimpse of what we’ve been listening to lately.
